The city of Acuña has a modern water treatment plant, located on the right margin of the Rio Bravo, to 200 ms from the international, has been in operation for more than 35 years.
The capacity is 400 liters per second, provides water to most of the populated area of the city.
Recently the city of Acuña opened a second water treatment plant, which was build during 2002 to the 2004 and has a capacity of 500 liters per second, this second plant is located in the highest part of the city, which can supply water to the rest of the city.
Between this two water treatment plants Acuña has no water issues.
Built in 1997, this wast treatment plant processes 350 liters per second.
The water that is treated is then deposited in the Rio Bravo then extracted for its sale by the CFE, uses that it to generate electricity in their thermoelectrial plant of Nava, Coah.
The cost of the joint tariff service is $11,764 pesos the m3. Tariff based on a consumption superior to the 200 m3.
