The total population of the municipality is of 126.238 habitants, results based on the census conducted by the National Institute of Statistic, Geography and Computer science 2005 (INEGI). This number represents the 5,06% of the total population of the state and the 1,15% of the country. The density of population is of 17 habitants/km2.
