Acuña belongs to the state of Coahuila, third greater state of the country, that is located in the Northeast of Mexico, sharing a border of 512 km with the North American state of Texas.

The municipality of Acuña is located in the North Region of the state and counts on a territorial extension of 11.487,7 km² and one population of 126,238 habitants.

Altitude and geographical coordinates

It is located to the North of the State of Coahuila, in the coordinates 100º, 56 ' 03¨, west longitude and 29º, 19 ' 09¨ North latitude, to a height of 279,3 meters on the level of the sea with a surface of 11.487,70 km ².

Distances and territorial limit

Acuña is to an approximated distance of 492 km of the State Capital and an approximated distance of 1.350 km of the capital of the Country.

The municipality of Acuña, Coahuila is limited the north with the United States of North America; to the south with the municipalities of Jiménez, Zaragoza and Múzquiz; to the east with the municipality of Jiménez and the United States of North America; to the west with the municipality of Ocampo.
